Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are a modern proposition for cosmetic dentistry, enjoying increasing popularity among patients all over the world. This is due unquestionably to the advantages of this method, namely its speed, effectiveness and durability.

The unquestionable advantage of porcelain is its strength in terms of physical and optical properties, thanks to which porcelain veneers perfectly imitate natural enamel. They are not subject to discolouration, are abrasion-resistant and, above all, improve well-being by adding self-confidence for years to come.

Why porcelain veneers?

There are many benefits to having porcelain veneers. The first is the visual aspect. Many people dream of having a smile that is full, harmonious and consistent with the features of the entire face without orthodontic treatment that lasts several years. With porcelain veneers, the patient does not have to focus on constantly hiding malocclusion.

Another reason why porcelain veneers have won over patients is the material from which they are made, i.e. porcelain. It replicates the real, natural dentition. It absorbs and reflects light, exactly like tooth enamel. In addition, the durability of the material should be mentioned. Depending on the type, porcelain veneers are fitted for between 8 and 15 years.

Porcelain veneers versus digital smile design.

At Jesionowa Dental Clinic, you will see your new smile even before treatment begins. Using the 3Shape Smile Design programme, the dentist takes into account your facial features, facial expression, personality, skin complexion and even eye colour to design a completely new shape of your teeth. The doctor, when creating the visualisation of the new smile, is guided by his experience combined with the individual preferences of the patient.

Stages of treatment:

Visit 1

During the first visit, the doctor performs a dental examination, takes a CT scan, a digital photo of the patient and a digital scan of the dentition. Based on the data collected, the specialist carries out a thorough analysis of the patient's current smile and then builds a treatment plan, including a cost estimate.

Visit 2

Based on the created digital model of the veneers from our 3D printer, a so-called WAX-UP is created, which is a simulation of the future prosthetic restoration. This allows our specialists to create temporary composite veneers while waiting for the actual porcelain plates. This is a great safeguard for the patient's natural dentition and also a great visualisation of the final result for the customer.

Visit 3

Visit 3 includes teeth grinding. The entire procedure is performed under local anaesthetic. During the visit, the dentist removes the outer surface of the tooth crown, corresponding to the thickness of the future ceramic veneer. Once the grinding is complete, the specialist proceeds to take a digital impression and this is sent to the prosthetic laboratory. The waiting time is a few days, during which the patient wears MOCK-UP temporary veneers, created according to the WAX-UP stimulation made earlier. This is an important stage as the patient becomes familiar with the feeling of wearing the veneers.

Visit 4

Cementation of the actual porvcelain veneers. This visit is divided into two stages.

1. Selection of the colour shade of the veneer/tooth bonding cement

2. Final cementation process
